Cocoa with 6 Grams of Fiber?!

A few more Trader Joe's updates. First, they have "Coins of the World" which are much cooler than the regular old drugstore bag of geld. Here, the Sugar Baby has made a Christmas tree out of his (after he won all of my coins in a rousing game of dreidel).Second, check this out. Trader Joe's Sipping Chocolate. Sounds delish, right? Well check out the nutritional info, too: 6 grams of fiber, baby! I'm not sure how that's even possible, given that the ingredients are cocoa powder, cane sugar, chocolate liquor and cocoa butter. Any nutritionists want to give us some insight on that? Because I'm all about six grams of fiber.

Oh yeah, cocoa is just the cocoa solids with the fat removed. So what's left? It doesn't have any natural sugars and not much protein. So fiber is all that's left.

It's really a health food!

6 grams of fiber is believable :D

*Trader Joe's Chocolate: 3 tbsp = 6 grams fiber
*Hershey's Cocoa Powder: 3 tbsp = 6 grams fiber

The first ingredient in the Trader Joe's chocolate is cocoa powder... and I'm sure some different types of cacao beans have slightly different amounts of fiber in them, which would make up for the sugar and stuff taking up some of that 6 tbsp space!

How does the Trader Joe's stuff taste? I love mixing the Hershey Cocoa powder in hot water. It's bitter, but it's a good bitter :D

And love the coin tree! Are they glued to paper to use as a Christmas decoration?

Ah, I didn't catch the "serving size" on the Trader Joe's tin. Makes more sense now. You're right, Cybele, it is a health food!
Philly, no, they weren't glued on. They were just temporary, like a sand mandala.
