Brilliant Blue: M&Ms as medicine?

WOW. I was tipped off to this piece of exciting news by a friend who has spinal cord injuries. Researchers at the University of Rochester Medical Center found that when they injected Brilliant Blue G (the same color used in blue M&Ms) into rats with spinal cord injuries, the rats were able to walk again, albeit with a limp. This of course doesn't mean that chowing down on a bag of blue M&Ms will cure spinal injuries, but it's exciting information-- and hope for the future! Read more here.

Does anyone remember in grade school, the rumor that the red M&Ms cause cancer and that's why they stopped making them and replaced them temporarily with the light brown ones? Or did I just make that up?
