Okay Yumsters, I'm handing the soapbox over to you. Candy corn: should it be the kind with a white bottom or a brown bottom? Whaddya say? Give it to me straight!
I believe that there might be a difference between the two. I was always under the impression that orange was Candy Corn and the brown bottom was Indian Corn. I prefer the brown bottom, it adds a chocolatey goodness!
I was always under the impression that the white bottom was Candy Corn and the brown bottom was Indian Corn. I prefer the chocolately goodness of Indian Corn, mixed with peanuts! MMMMMM.
Don't the layers(top to bottom) usually go white, orange and then either yellow or brown? I've always favored the yellow bottom, but recently I discovered I enjoy a mixed bag to have a piece here and there of the brown(chocolate) bottomed ones. It kind of mellows it out a litte bit!
Wait now that I think about it, do we have the bottom piece mixed up? If you look at actual corn on the cob, the "fat" part is the top when on the cob.. But for candy corn, do we usually consider the tiny white tip part the top, or the bottom? Just something to ponder I guess. I still stand by my previous comment though!
Okay, I googled up candy corn(I google everything, it's almost sad!), and every picture I found(searching just candy corn, and brachs as well just for kicks) and the pictures all showed either white tops, orange middles, and yellow bottoms, or white tops, orange middles, and brown bottoms. Aside from the red caramel apple candy corn. Maybe the color order has changed and no one has yet to realize it?

The usual options are chocolate bottom or orange-colored. I favor the orange-colored.
Then again, the caramel apple flavor that Brach's came out with last year was pretty good - I think that was red-bottomed.
Oh, duh. Yes. See, I'm so sick I can't even talk about candy corn. Brown or orange?

This is pure craziness! What color are candy corns? The traditional strata is white pointy top, orange middle, yellow bottom.
