Mmmmmm ... m&m's!!

FREE m&ms! The Easter Bunny has arrived early at the House of Yum. I have an Easter m&m's goodie package (m&m's, recipes and some crafty stuff) to give to one lucky randomly-chosen Yumster. Here's all you have to do: in the comments, leave a note telling me about your favorite Easter basket goodie and I'll pick one lucky recipient on April 5. Here's the fine print: Please leave a way for me to contact you if you're picked as the winner. If you sign in as anonymous, that won't help you much. Also, you must live in the continental U.S.
Just to get the old creative juices flowing, I'll share with you some of my favorite Easter basket memories: a chocolate ladybug (I thought that was just the coolest!); a stuffed Winnie-the-Pooh character that, at the time, were only sold at Sears. I had Pooh, Eeyore and I believe Tigger; and red, white and blue jelly beans-- oh wait, no, I hated those.

My favorite was a solid white chocolate rabbit that a friend found for me. It was the first solid one I had ever had until that time. It came with a small stuffed brown bear that clothes were made for subsequently.

my mom thinks its those cheap (think 99 cent) egg cartons of chocolate covered marshmallows that you buy at your local CVS but it's really a package of yellow bunny peeps (and very specifically those) and two cadbury cream eggs! Aaahhh cliche candy heaven...

at first it was the yellow peeps. but when i saw pink peeps for the first time... they were like fairy princess peeps all pink and sparkly!

The "Rolling Writer Pentel Chalk" that was left in my basket. Which was made fun of by Madame Yum Yum herself! Those were the good ol' days.

My favorite Easter basket goodie was the chocolate Easter bunny - and not the hollow ones either. I'm talking about those SOLID through-and-through hunks of deliciousness.

I used to admire the hollow, hard-sugar eggs that have a diarama-type scene inside and beautiful decorations on the outside. I don't know if they're meant for eating, I certainly never ate one--they would just get old and dusty. And the little colored coconut nests with the tiny candy eggs. I may have eaten part of one of those. It's the magic and charm of the items that caught my imagination. I remember lingering over these items at Easter time in Rexall's on the Post Rd in Fairfield on my walk home from St. Thomas School.

My favorite non-edible Easter basket goodie is... One of those compact date stamps! (My Mom always gave us small toys and art supplies type stuff along with candy.) I remember getting it when I was really little and still played with beanie babies :P Me and my little sister had made a small town for the beanie babies out of boxes and stuff... And if any of the beanie babies had to make a document or something, well, the date stamp made it look all rockin and professional looking **nods** ^_^ And at the end of the school day I would just stamp all my papers :)

I think my favorite edible Easter basket goodie would have to be... My Mom put a single pack of hot chocolate mix in my basket :D Which made me sooo happy! Cause I love hot chocolate. We usually only buy it in the winter when it’s on sale. But my Mom actually bought a whole bunch of boxes and just took one packet out for my basket since the boxes would of taken up to much room :P So then when I learned I got boxes of it... Jump up and downness :D

My favorite is a giant See's candy Bordeaux egg that I get every year! It's like a brown sugar buttercream covered in chocolate.

My favorite is the mini robin eggs. I love malted milk balls, and these have just the right proportion of candy coating, chocolate, and crunchy malted center.

My favorite Easter gift is M&m's. We would always get them, and it took until the summer to eat them all!

I have always loved jelly beans as my favorite, but when I was a kid the cadbury creme egg was a close second. I loved to bite the top off and then lick out all of the filling. I am sad that they are so much smaller now.

Also to Necco Door Neighbor - I come from a really small town and we had a Rexall's too and that was where i found my candy! I had no idea it was a chain, we always called it Rexall's even though it changed ownership. Funny.

Definitely jelly beans and cadbury creme eggs as a kid. I would bite the tops off first and then lick out all of the creme center. I am very sad that they are so much smaller now, but I still love jelly beans!
