Free Candy! Free Candy!

I must admit, I've sort of had writer's block about these new Tootsie Pop Drops. ("Tootsie Pops without the stick!") I'm not sure why, because I really, really dig them. The kind folks over at the Tootsie headquarters sent me a gajillion of these; some to taste, some to give away. So yes, dear readers, it's another fun candy giveaway! The thing is, I can't decide whether to send the whole big shebang to just one person, or divvy it up and share the love. I still don't know. So here's what you do. Leave me a comment telling me what your favorite Tootsie Pop flavor is (or one that you'd like to see) and I'll pick one or maybe a few people to send these to. I need to clean off my desk, so let's say I'll pick the lucky popinator on April 4. Now, on with my comments.

Totally addictive. I know I say that about lots of things, but these are sort of under-the-radar addictive. As in, you wouldn't expect to keep going back for more, but you do. These are great because a serving size is four pieces and only 60 calories, so you can eat a bunch and not feel like you've gone overboard. I was a little nervous about these, because I totally hated the Blow Pop Minis, but here's the difference: with the Blow Pops, you're left with gum and you have to decide whether you want to chew the gum or have another pop. Here, you eat the Tootsie Roll center, then move on to the next piece. No hard decisions to make.

I brought a bunch of these to Easter dinner for No Nuts and her brother D-Sword to try out. They attacked them like a pack of ravenous, starving college students, which makes sense, since that's what they are. I casually observed them and noticed this: D-Sword ate all the orange ones, and No Nuts ate all the grape ones. "Orange are the best," said D-Sword. (Just like my little friend Alexander!) "I don't like orange," said No Nuts.

Now you'd think they'd team up and do a swap or something, but since, as I mentioned, they're siblings of college age, they make it a point not to talk to each other. So there, on the Easter table, were two separate piles of "leftover" Tootsie Pop Drops. (Not for long, however, as I really like all the flavors, including the blue raspberry which, strangely enough, was absent from both D-Sword's and No Nuts' bags!)

So that's the story. These are new. These are yummy. These can be yours!

I know that most people don't like it, but I simply love the chocolate tootsie pops! I'll even eat the red ones--but I never eat the grape or orange ones. They just taste funny to me--

I usually like the cherry and orange flavors the best. But I never met a tootsie pop I didn't like-- so I basically eat them all!

I love this candy and I'm so happy it's back!! My favorite flavor is cherry but I'm always happy if lime is part of a mix.

I got a bag of Tootsie Pops a couple of months ago for the first time in years. Was interested to see some of the new flavors.

A single favorite, though? That's tough! Among the classic flavors I like chocolate, and even cherry (I never like cherry). The newer flavors I liked included raspberry and watermelon.

My faves are the cherry and orange! These would be great for work. I always feel so strange sucking on a lollipop at work so these would be much more discreet. They sound yummy!

Orange is my favorite. It *looks* downright disgusting, but the flavor is pleasant and I like the incongruous sweet and sickly orange/chocolate combination.

I miss these!! I absolutely love them!!
Anyways, my favorite flavor of Tootsie Pops has always been orange! I remember in grade school when kids would bring these as birthday treats, I'd always have to have an orange one. I'd settle for any other flavor if orange was gone, but it has always been my favorite!

Hi. I'm excited try these. I like the idea of them existing without the stick. I like the chocolate ones because you don't find chocolate hard candies very often (usually they're fruit flavored). That being said, I like the cherry and grape too. I don't believe I've ever had the blue raspberry, but I'm looking forward to trying them out. :)

These ahve been off the market way too long,it's better than a tootsie pop because you can eat them anywhere. Orange and cherry are my favorite but I like to red rasberry.

Cherry. Although every once in a while, the chocolate is very satisfying; it has a completely different mouth feel.

I'm with you, Corinne! Peach sounds goooood. I'd like pineapple as well. I also think that watermelon would be nice. Nom nom nom! :o)

Cherry I think. Been such a long time since I've had one.

I really like all of them, but the chocolate one is definitely my least favorite. I probably like the cherry best. My bf would love a banana one.

My favorite would be raspberry. Always traded the other flavors away for it, especially chocolate.
I'd like to see a mango Tootsie, but I doubt they could get the flavor to my liking.

I have always been in love with cherry flavor and I most be the only one who actually likes the chocolate ones as well. I would like to see maybe cranberry seeing as I am currently living in Massachusetts, home of many cranberry bogs.

I LOVE tootsie pop drops and am so glad to see they are back! My favorite flavor is the new Blue Raspberry - but we were traveling over spring break and at one of the stops found a bundle sucker pack that had the Orange/Pineapple, Lemon/Lime, Strawberry/Banana, Citrus/Punch, and Berry-Berry/Punch . . .Wow - they were awesome. Haven't found them around my hometown yet - but i hope they eventually put some of those flavors into the pop drops as well.

I love the chocolate ones. I did not have to worry about sharing these very often with the other kids as they prefered all the other ones. I also liked the cherry ones to but they were usually the first to go. We didn't get tootsie pops very often but when we did they were a real treat and OH SO YUMMY!!!!!!!!!!!
